 The department of Pediatric & Preventive Dentistry, Indira Gandhi Institute of Dental Sciences commemorated Teachers’ Day 2019. The programme was conducted at two Government High Schools, GHS-Panithittu and Kavignareru Vaanithasanar GHS, Seliamedu, Puducherry on 4th and 13th September respectively. Education on “Oral Health of Children and management of dental emergencies in school” was provided using powerpoint presentation, models and role play. Pretest and post-test were administered. This was followed by dental screening and treatment for the teachers. Twenty four teachers benefitted from the programme. Six teachers were awarded for best oral hygiene and for scoring the highest marks in the post-test. A team of two faculty, two postgraduates, eight interns and one dental chair technician conducted the programme.
