 The Department of Periodontology conducted a Screening and Awareness camp for School students of Government Middle school, Manalipet, Puducherry along with 2 faculty (Dr Vineela and Dr Karthik), 2 Post Graduates and 9 interns for the camp. A total of 215 school students from class LKG to Class VIII were screened for their dental problems such as dental caries, gingivitis, eruption sequence and few symptomatic conditions like abscess, Eruption haematoma.All the students were motivated for oral hygiene by demonstrating brushing technique using models and other oral hygiene instructions. The teachers of each class were given referral cards for treatment and asked them to inform the parents. On 21.08.2019 a total of 35 students from the Government Middle school, Manalipet, Puducherry along with one teacher were transported to IGIDS. All the students were treated for their oral diseases in the Department of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry. The treatments rendered were scaling, permanent and temporary restorations, pit and fissure sealants. Oral hygiene instructions and motivation was given to the students.
