REPORT ON PERIO FIESTA – THE UNDERGRADUATE CARNIVAL
Department of Periodontology, Indira Gandhi Institute of Dental Sciences, Sri Balaji
Vidyapeeth, organized a two day National Undergraduate Periodontology Conference in
association with Indian Society of Periodontology on 3 rd and 4 th November 2017. The program
started with inauguration attended by Prof. K.R. Sethuraman, Honourable Vice Chancellor,
Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth, as the chief guest and was presided by Dr. A. R. Pradeep, President of
Indian Society of Periodontology. It included two lectures on ‘Scope of Periodontology’ and
‘Yoga for Dentist’ which was well appreciated by the participants.
A total of 245 registrants form 20 colleges across India participated in various events like
Workshop, scientific paper and poster presentations, debate, short film, table clinics and quiz
organized as part of conference. Highlight of the conference was the hands on workshop on
lasers and implant placement in models. A gala banquet was organised as part of the
conference on 3 rd November 2017. The conference ended with prize announcement and
distribution at the valedictory function.
