In Commemoration of World Liver Day – 2019, Department of Medical-Surgical Nursing, KGNC has organized “A Human Puppet Show and A Health Talk on Love Your Liver and Live Longer” on 29th April 2019 from 10.30 am to 12.00 pm at the Primary Health Centre, Kirumampakkam. 15 Students of B.Sc(N) II Year has staged a well-organized human puppet show depicting the risk factors leading to liver disorders and its ill effects and preventive measures of liver disorders. Followed by this, Mr.Surendran S R, Tutor, Department of Medical-Surgical Nursing has presented a Health Talk on the theme “Love Your Liver and Live Longer” focusing the liver disorders and its prevention. Mrs. Ponmani C, Tutor, and Mr. Surendran S R, Tutor, Department of Medical-Surgical Nursing have organized the entire programme. 30 beneficiaries who have attended the OPD on that day have participated in the programme. Beneficiaries have given the feedback at the end of the programme that they have gained more knowledge regarding liver disorders and its prevention and it will be helpful in taking care of their liver.

MEDICAL SURGICAL NURSING
The Special Guest Lecture was organized by Department of Medical-Surgical Nursing, KGNC for the 76th Scientific and Academic Forum on April 25th, 2019 at Sushrutha Lecture Hall, KGNC. The Guest lecture was given by Dr. B SAJEETH MANIKANDA PRABU, Assistant Professor, Department of General Medicine, MGMCRI, Puducherry. He presented on the topic of “HEALTHY LIVER, HEALTHY LIFE”. The lecture began with a brief introduction about Liver and Vital role of liver functions, highlighted the contribution of the factors to Liver diseases and Liver damage as well as explained about to how to overcome from those factors through Healthy life practices. The session was highly informative and interesting.
