Bapuji Central Library
Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth (SBV) is a Deemed to be University registered under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956 with NAAC “A” Grade ranking and also with NIRF ranking (top 100 universities) having seven constituent Health Science Institutions under its Jurisdictions namely Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Research Institute and Shri Sathiya Sai Medical college, and Research Institute, Shri Sathya sai college of Nursing, Indira Gandhi Institute of Dental Sciences, Kasturba College of Nursing, Allied Health sciences and School of Pharmacy.
Bapuji central library has been located in the heart of central place of the Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth in a separate three storeyed centralised AC building and easily accessible for staff & students, Hospital and Hostel. The Total layout and floor area 4401 Sq.m. (47,372 Sq. Feet). The construction of the New Central library was started in 2008 and the Library which was functioning in the college block since 2001 was shifted to the new separate building in 2010 and Central library is renamed as Bapuji Central Library from 2019 onwards. Since then, it is functioning in the new building.
Timing of Bapuji Central Library:
Monday to Saturday: 6 am to 10 pm
Sunday: 9 am to 5 pm
Note: Library will not function on the holidays declared by the University.
The Central Library has three stored Building
- Ground floor of the library has Pre-clinical medical books, Reference books, Internet café , seminar hall with the seating capacity of 105 and student own book reading section of PG/Interns with the seating capacity of 50 numbers
- First floor consist of Para clinical medical books and SBV Gallery
- Second floor consist of PG Section library, Thesis section, Bound volume/ Archives and Periodical section
- Third floor consist of Student own books section with seating capacity of 250 numbers.
Separate reading room facilities are available for Faculty members PG/Interns 40 systems (20 for Faculty and 20 for PG/Interns) are available in the second Floor for Internet Browsing and other related works.
Lift facility available for the user community. The central library is WI-FI enabled to access the internet.
The beginning of the central library started in the year 2001 with collection of 2,400 books and twelve National and six international Journals. With the passage of time saw a steady growth and development and true to the saying that the library is growing organism, also grew and developed both in stature and style size. Books and Journals were added as per the requirements of the MCI.
