Department of Biochemistry organized a CME cum workshop titled “ABG-A STEP AHEAD” on 24th Sep 2019. A total of 35 delegates from medical colleges in and around Puducherry participated in the programme.
Prof. Subhash Chandra Parija, Honourable Vice-Chancellor of Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth inaugurated the programme and also delivered the keynote address. The resource persons include Dr.R.Ramesh, Professor, Dept. Of Biochemistry, JIPMER, Dr.Sameera, Assistant Professor, Dept. Of Critical Care Medicine, MGMCRI, Prof. Parthasarathy, Dept. Of Anaesthesia, MGMCRI, Dr.SP.S.Subrahmanian, Consultant Nephrologist, Sundaram Hospitals, Trichy. The programme was organized mainly to impart the knowledge about ABG interpretation which is aimed at ensuring proper interpretation of ABG reports. The workshop in the afternoon session by solving case reports with elaborate discussion kindled their knowledge about ABG interpretation in a different angle and also the speaker is a nephrologist was able to give a various differential diagnosis for all the case reports discussed.
