 
The five-day inter-medical collegiate cultural and sports festival christened ‘Spectra 2K18’ hosted by the Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Research Institute, a constituent college under Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth (SBV), a deemed university began here on Tuesday (3 April 2018).
Hundreds of students from various medical colleges – including Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (Jipmer), Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims), Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Research Institute and Arupadai Veedu Medical College in Puducherry, and other colleges in Tamil Nadu – will compete in a series of cultural and sports events. The contest will also include literary events at later stages.
International volleyball player and ONGC manager R Kamaraj formally inaugurated the sports events on Tuesday.
