NEURO-OPHTHALMOLOGY TODAY – AN UPDATE

CME on NEURO-OPHTHALMOLOGY TODAY – AN UPDATE 2019, was held on 10th March 2019 and was a grand success. The chief guest of honor for the inauguration ceremony was
Prof SUBASH CHANDRA PARIJA, Vice Chancellor, MGMCRI. He spoke about the importance of knowledge about neuro-ophthalmology. This was followed by the lighting of the lamp and the welcome address by Prof.Dr.K.Srikanth, HOD, Department of Ophthalmology, MGMCRI, who also gave an insight into the programme. The whole event had an excellent turnout with registrations of around 170 delegates. The academic sessions started soon after, with renowned speakers from JIPMER, Aravind Eye Hospital, Indira Gandhi Govt. General Hospital and our own institution and had radiologists, neurologists, and ophthalmologists speaking on the vital and advancing areas of interest in neuro-ophthalmology. The beginning of the afternoon session also witnessed an interactive PG update by Dr. Vijayaraghavan and a quiz which was won by third-year residents from our own institute (Dr.Shruthy and Dr. Anudeep). For the first time, we made use of the online Quiz, KAHOOT for the audience, which was a grand success. The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. T. Kurinchi. The CME was informative and useful for everyone, especially Ophthalmology post-graduates with the feedback being overwhelmingly positive.
