Prof. Ravishankar is one of the eminent anaesthesiologists in India and currently the Director, Centre for Digital Resources, Education and Medical Informatics (C-DREAMS) at Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth. He has served as Professor and HOD of Anaesthesiology from 2005 - 2015 and as Dean of MGMCRI from Apr 2015 - July 2020. He holds additional responsibility as Professor of Eminence in Anaesthesiology. He has served as Director of Medical Simulation center, coordinator International Training Centre of American Heart Association. He established the state of the art Critical care unit in MGMCRI and also started the IDCCM and IDCCN courses in critical care. His past achievements include establishing state of the art Department of Anaesthesiology and training to giving care at world standards from the year 1995, upgrading the Department of Cardio-thoracic Anaesthesia and establishment of Critical Care Unit at JIPMER, Puducherry. He has the following honours • Nominated to the ‘Board of Directors’ in Asia Ventilation Forum in Shanghai, China in June 2007. • Former member of Bureau of Indian standards (BIS) for formulating specifications for anaesthesia equipment. • “Lifetime Achievement award for progress of anaesthesia in India” by the British Association of Indian Anaesthetists in 2007. • Member customer advisory board, GE, 2010. • FRCP by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, 2012 Dr. Ravishankar was honoured with “Lifetime Achievement Award” for outstanding contribution in the field of anaesthesiology at 29th Annual south zone ISA conference – PONSZAC 2013. He has published around 104 articles in reputed medical journals and is guiding many projects. He was nominated as National Mentor for propagating Inhalational anaesthesia especially Low flow anaesthesia using GasMan simulations.

Currently working as Professor and Head of anaesthesia. He joined the institute as assistant professor in 5-11-2008.He is promoted as professor in 5-11-2015. Took over as head of the department on 8-7-2019.Total UG and PG teaching experience is 13years 8months. He is also the American Heart Association international training center coordinator, for International Training Center MSC MGMCRI. He has an avid interst in simulation based training, and has incorporated Skills based training into the Interns and Post Graduate training programs. He is a key player in the departmental functioning and curriculum assignment for the Post Graduates. He is also recognised nationwide for his contribution in simulation based training, where he has conducted several workshops. He is also a key member in various Professional Bodies like Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists, Research Society of Anaesthesiology and Clinical Pharmacology, National Academy of Medical Sciences, International Medical Science Academy, Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine, Academy of Regional Anaesthesia. He has 35 publications in various national and international journals to his credit. He has four copyrights to his credit. He is an invited faculty for various International and National Conferences. He has over 38 Journal Publications in International and national journals to his credit. He is instrumental in designing the CPR Manual for resuscitation training pruposes. Prof. Sivashanmugam, joined the department of anaesthesiology at MGMCRI on January 2007 as assitant professor and promoted to associate professor and professor on 2011 and 2014 respectively. He was heading the department for 4 years form 2014 to 2019. Presently working as professor leading the regional anaesthesia training program in the deparment. His professional carreer objective is to understand the molecular dynamics and mechanism of regional anaesthesia by conducting high quality research and dissipate this knowledge through appropriate teaching and training methods so that anaesthesiologists can be empowered to deliver better and safe regional anaesthesia techniques for optimal patient outcome. On that goal he has contributed significantly to develope an one year fulltime fellowship on ultrasound guided regional anaesthesia with a student centered compentency based curriculum. He has established Acute Pain Service in the department to give an effective feedback about the outcome of all their interventions for pain relief. He is committed and passionate to develope all systems and tools that will help the department and university to reach their goal. He has 31 publications and 5 copyrights for his credits. Two patents have been submitted for processing. He is curently serving the post of secretary of Board of studies for Regional anaesthesia training program across India, offered by the Apex regional anaesthesia scoiety of the country known as Academy of Regional Anaesthesia India (AORA).
