Facilities
Department of Biochemistry is situated at the college premises and the Clinical Biochemistry laboratory is housed in the central laboratory block, at the hospital premises. The department is equipped with adequate infrastructure to meet the requirements. The academic, research and service activities of the department centre around the main block.
Students Laboratory
The students’ laboratory (main) is endowed with facilities that cater to the needs of the UG students in Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing and Allied health sciences. Practical sessions are held essentially during both forenoons and afternoons of all week days. These sessions are essentially preceded by demonstration, wherein the students are sensitized to the experiments being performed. The laboratory is backed by able and efficient technical and auxiliary personnel.
Research Laboratory
The Research Laboratory is housed adjacent to the students’ lab serves the needs of the PG and research workers. The Department of Biochemistry is actively involved in imparting theoretical and practical knowledge to the postgraduate students and research scholars.

In addition, a few tests for patient care in Clinical Biochemistry are being performed here. The M.D. and M.Sc. Medical Biochemistry, M.Sc. MLT students get opportunities to plan and conduct experiments, besides carrying out their dissertation (thesis) work.

Department Library cum Seminar Hall
The departmental library has 150+ books and many journals. It has all the required latest edition of biochemistry books as well as reference books related to the subjects for the need of UG students, postgraduates and faculty members. Departmental academic activities, discussions, postgraduate journal clubs and seminars take place in the seminar hall where the students take part enthusiastically.
