This Faculty Development Program (FDP)”Osteoporosis- An Update” was organized by the Department of Orthopaedics, MGMCRI. Dr. Vineet Thomas Abraham, Professor Department of Orthopaedics, MGMCRI was the Organizing Coordinator for this FDP event. The Title of the FDP was “Osteoporosis an Update”. The target audience was Consultants and Postgraduates Departments of Orthopaedics, Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology and Radiodiagnosis. We had 2 International and 4 national speakers of repute. 215 participants registered for the program. The program went of well and covered all aspects of Osteoporosis from the current Indian Scenario, to how to diagnose and manage osteoporosis. There were important talks on how to prevent osteoporosis by eating a bone healthy diet (diet rich in calcium vitamin d and other minerals) and importance of exercise in the prevention of osteoporosis. Each session also included an interactive panel discussion. We had both international and national participants who attended the FDP. All the participants provided very good feedback about the event and its conduct.
