This workshop “Simple Toxicological Methods for Student Research Projects” was organized on 12th December, 2018 by Centre for Animal Research Training and Services (CAReTS), Central Inter-Disciplinary Research Facility (CIDRF) under Nipuna – Biomedical Research skill development program, DBT, New Delhi sponsored program, hosted by Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth (SBV) as a part of the International conference on “The Role of toxicology in public Health” pre-conference module.
The Facilitators of the workshop were Dr Balanehru Subramanian, Director, CIDRF & Organizing Secretary, STOX2018 and Dr Sundarakrishnan, Co-ordinator, pre-conference Workshop. Prof. Gopal. V, Principal & Head, Mother Theresa Post Graduate and Research Institute of Health Sciences, Puducherry. Dr Yoganandhan and Dr Selvakumari, Assistant Professors, Mother Theresa Post Graduate and Research Institute of Health Sciences, Puducherry were invited as the external resource person for the Workshop.
A total of 28 participants have enrolled in the workshop from various disciplines from different institutes including faculties, post-graduate and undergraduate students. The workshop received participants from different part of the country Indira Gandhi College of Arts and Science, Puducherry; JIPMER, Puducherry; Annamalai University, Chidambaram; CDRI, Lucknow; Jammeh college of arts and science for women, Chennai; SRM Deemed University, Chennai.
The workshops began with the welcome address by Dr Sundarakrishnan, Co-ordinator followed by the guest lecture on “Food adulteration” by Prof. Gopal. V. Principal & Head, Mother Theresa Post Graduate and Research Institute of Health Sciences, Puducherry. Dr Yoganandhan and Dr Selvakumari presided the session with a brief lecture on the simple table tests for the analysis of adulterants in the food substances followed by the practical session.       ]]>
