CMTER celebrated by the first World Music Therapy Day announced by the World Federation of Music Therapy on 01.3.2018 and 02.03.2018. India was one of the 30 countries across the globe which celebrated the achievements of the music therapy profession from CMTER, SBV. The event was presided over by our Hon. Vice-Chancellor, Prof. KR Sethuraman the CMTER faculty and the students performed “Shadavam” a multilingual song composed in seven languages and dedicated to the World Music Therapy Day. A mobile music therapy unit on was inaugurated our Hon. Vice Chancellor and a music therapy awareness document were released by our Medical Superintendent Prof. Nirmal Coumare. A video on music therapy with a dysarthria patient was released by Mrs. Asha Suresh Babu, General Manager, SBV. A breezy gig was performed by the students and the faculty of CMTER on the roadside of the beaches of Pondicherry as a part of the public awareness campaign in the evening of 1st March 2018 to create public awareness about the benefits of music therapy. Around 250 to 300 pamphlets explaining the benefits of music therapy were distributed. On 2nd March 2018, the faculty and the students of CMTER performed a flash mob in the farms of Bahour Village and CMTER faculty and the students conducted an induction program for the new batch of nurses recruited by MGMCRI
