Indira Gandhi Institute of Dental Science has celebrated the 150th Birth Anniversary of Our Father of our Nation throughout the last week by posting his quotes in the Student Council notice board followed by conducting various competitions – Slogan writing, Essay, Poster and drawing competition on 28.09.2019 for the theme:
1. “Vision of our Father of our Nation and India in 2030″
2. “ Tradition of India “
3. “ Power and potential has nothing to do with appearance”
Around 30 students have participated. The competition was followed by a special motivational and sensitization lecture on the topic “Tribute to the Father of Our Nation” delivered by Mr. S. Rajamanickam, Retired Tamil Teacher on 30.09.2019 between 3.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. The lecture was passionate to inculcate the teachings and sacrifices of Mahatma Gandhi in his personal life for his principles and freedom struggle and also emphasized on the rights of women and children, caste eradication, the importance of patriotism and health and well being of the Indian farmer and Indian village. The students were certified for the best slogan, essay and drawings.
