 
The program Hands on workshop titled ‘Cadavers in Reconstructive Maxillofacial Surgery’ was held on 10th November 2017 at MGMCRI ground floor, lecture hall, SBV. It was jointly organized by Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, IGIDS, Department of Anatomy and Department of Plastic Surgery, MGMCRI, SBV.
Prof. Sathyanarayanan, Head of the Department, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, IGIDS, was the Organizing Chairman and Dr. Vijayaraghavan N, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon, MGMCRI, was the Organizing Secretary.
Morning session started with an inaugural function with Dr. Nirmal Coumare, Medical Superintendent, MGMCRI, as chief guest and Dr. Saravana Kumar, Principal, IGIDS, presided over the function. Invited speaker Dr. Srinivasa R. Chandra, Clinical Assistant Professor, OMFS, University of Nebraska, USA, Dr. T. Sadeesh from the Department of Anatomy, Dr. N. Vijayaraghavan, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon, MGMCRI, were felicitated in the function.
Inaugural function was followed by lectures from Dr. Srinivasa R. Chandra on ‘Oral Oncology and Planning in Reconstruction’ and a lecture from Mr. Deepak on ‘Osteo 3D Printing Healthcare’. Lecture session culminated in grand lunch. Afternoon, the participants were allocated into convenient groups and were given hands on experience in harvesting various free and pedicle flaps. The hands on session went till 6.00 P.M and the workshop concluded with a Gala banquet, held at hotel du-park, Pondicherry. Online feedbacks were obtained and analyzed. Overall the feedback was ‘The workshop benefited them considerably’.
