 
The annual Alumni meet for the year 2015 was conducted on 20th March 2015 at 1.30 PM, at the lecture hall in 1st floor of College Block, MGMCRI. The chief guest for the inauguration programme was Mrs. Jayanthi Ravichandran, Chairman, Child Welfare Committtee, Cuddalore District. The Presiding Officer was Prof.K.R.Sethuraman, Vice Chancellor, SBV. The guest speakers for the day were, Prof.K.R.Sethuraman, Vice Chancellor , SBV, Prof.A.Nandakumar, HOD, Dept. of Orthodontia, IGIDS, Prof. Subramanya Sharma, Principal, Adhiparasakthi Dental College & Hospital, Melmaruvathur & Dr. Abraham Thomas & Mrs.Sheeba Simon from Kodur, Kadapa district. Around 35 alumni had attended the programme.
The programme began with a lecture on ‘Money Management’ by Prof.A.Nanadkumar, as there was a delay in the arrival of the chief guest. The inauguration programme began with prayer song followed by presentation of mementos to the dignitaries by Dr. Saravanakumar. R, Vice Principal, IGIDS. Prof.Carounanidy Usha, Principal, IGIDS welcomed the gathering. Prof.K.R.Sethuraman delivered the presidential address. This was followed by the presentation of awards & honours. The meritorious students of the 2009 batch of BDS were awarded with trophy and certificates. Three of the alumni students were honoured for their contributions to the institute. Dr. Ranjani.R who had composed and recorded the official prayer song for our institute, DR. Abdul, a prolific designer who had designed logos & banners for the departments, & had made many video presentations & Dr. Shivasanthosh who had designed the alumni logo ‘THE GUILD’ were honoured with mementos by Prof.Carounanidy Usha. This was followed by the distribution of certificates to the participants & organizing team of the Skill Enhancement Program for alumni (SEA) conducted by the dept. of Prosthodontics on 18th & 19th March at IGIDS. Dr. Karthik, President of alumni association of IGIDS then honoured Dr. Vezhavendhan, Advisor, Alumni Association of IGIDS with a memento. It was an appreciable & noble act of the alumni to have presented a cheque of Rs 7000 towards vaccinating all the sanitary workers of the Municipality of Puducherry against Hepatitis B. The President & vice President of Alumni IGIDS presented this cheque to Dr. Senthil, Co-ordinator of NSS, IGIDS. The vaccination program will be conducted by the NSS of IGIDS in co-ordination with the Puducherry Municipality.
This was followed by the inauguration of the alumni logo and a recap of the activities of the alumni by the chief guest Mrs.Jayanthi Ravichandran who then delivered the inaugural address. The inauguration programme ended with vote of thanks by Prof.Saravanakumar.R The scientific session began with the lecture on ‘Doctor patient communication skills’ by Prof.K.R.Sethuraman followed by the lecture on ‘Medical emergencies in Dental Practice’ by Prof. Subramanya Sharma. The third lecture was on ‘Promises on rural Dental practise’ by Dr. Abraham Thomas. The programme ended with high tea followed by the AGM of the Alumni association of IGIDS.
