As part of NSS and as per the directives of the Government of India, the Indira Gandhi Institute of Dental Sciences had conducted a program on “EK BHARATH SHRESHTHA BHARAT” (EBSB) activities for the Month of November 2019 on 28.11.19. Mr. Siva Govindaradjane, Transport Department, Puducherry and who was previously working in Tourism, Puducherry had been invited to deliver a lecture on the topic “PAIRED STATES/UT CULTURE & TOURISM”. The lecture covered the History of Pondicherry before and after French period. The various tourist spots that were and are in limelight were covered along with their historic importance. The lecture also emphasized about the Arts and craft village which has been inaugurated very recently. After the lecture, Screening films of the respective state was projected as short documentary films. A few Puducherry tourism spots, Heritages, Restaurants, Auroville and Boathouse pictures were also screened. Few pamphlets and CD on various architectural estates and buildings, Puducherry map, legends of Puducherry were distributed to the students. The resource person was felicitated by memento and certificates as a token of Respect and Appreciation.
