The fourth Nilgiris Oral Health Program was organized by GUILD Alumni Association in collaboration with Kathirvel Nagammal Trust, Coonoor, from 30th September to 2nd October 2018. A team of 25 alumni and faculties comprised of 1 Public Health Dentist, 1 Oral Medicine and Radiologist, 1 Orthodontist, 2 Oral Surgeons, 2 Oral Pathologist and 18 General Dentist volunteered for this program.
Day 1: On 30th September 2018, a comprehensive oral health program was conducted at Sanatorium Church Hall, Kambisolai Village, Coonoor. 115 tribal people were screened for dental and oral morbidities. 221 treatments comprised of scaling, restoration and extraction were done to the tribal people of Kambisolai Village.
Day 2: On 1 st October 2018, a comprehensive oral health program was conducted at Kaithala Village Community Hall, Aravenu, Kothagiri Hall. In this camp, 191 tribal people were provided with oral health screening and 315 treatments like scaling, restoration and extraction. Both the programs were organized by Kathirvel Nagammal Trust, Coonoor.
Day 3: On 2nd October 2018, a team of 3 comprised of 1 Public Health Dentist, 1
Orthodontist and 1 Oral Surgeon did an oral health awareness talk show in a local
television channel for Todas and Badagas.
