NATIONAL DENTIST’S DAY

EVENT1: Signing of MoU

Indira Gandhi Institute of Dental Sciences Signed MoU with 2 organizations (Anbagam School for Intellectually disabled, Balaji charitable trust) on the occasion of Dentist day 2020. The MoU signing was initiated and executed by Team Public Health Dentistry.

Event 2: Launch of Intellectual Property

On the occasion of Dentist day “Palkappiya- Nangadigalil palthurai villakam” a copyrighted work of Intern Ms. Balavyshnavi was donated to all the departments. The initiative was done and supported as a part of Interns social responsibility by department of Public Health Dentistry. The intern was appreciated for the initiative by the Dean of the institute and all the Faculties.

Event 3: Comprehensive oral health Screening and Treatment Camp for special children

The program was organized by an Intern, Ms. Archana and planned to Create awareness about importance of oral health and provide preventive and curative service on National Dentist Day. To fulfill this aim, a dental diagnosis and awareness camp was planned at SHANTHAM SPECIAL SCHOOL FOR MENTALLY CHALLENGED, CUDDALORE on 6/03/20. The camp was conducted for 50 children. A diagnostic-checkups was done, following preventive and curative services was done. Awareness of oral health among Employees was increased by education and methods to improve oral hygiene. The response by the group was positive and the camp was deemed successful. On this event, an intern donated oral hygiene awareness aid to the school.

Event 4: Comprehensive oral health Screening and Treatment Camp at Corporate setting

The program was organized by an Intern, Ms. Amrutha Suresh and planned to Create awareness about importance of oral health and provide preventive and curative service at corporate setting on National Dentist Day. To fulfill this aim, a dental diagnosis and awareness camp was planned at Thiruvandar Koil, Micro Labs Pvt. Ltd on 7/03/20. The camp was conducted for 180 corporate employees and workers. A diagnostic-checkup was done; following preventive and curative services was done. Awareness of oral health among Employees was increased by education and methods to improve oral hygiene. The response by the group was positive and the camp was deemed successful. On this event, an intern donated oral hygiene awareness aid to the company.

Event 5: Meme and Punch dialogue competition

Team Public Health Dentistry organized an online competition for meme and punch dialogues on importance of dentist in the society. This competition was open to all BDS students and interns. Students from 11 dental colleges all over India had participated actively in this competition. We received around 79 entries for both the competitions.  1st and 2nd place awards will be given for each competition.
