 
Project Pallandu – Comprehensive Geriatric Dental Care to Old Age Homes of Puducherry. Project Pallandu is a unique venture from the Department of Prosthodontics and Crown & Bridge, Indira Gandhi Institute of Dental Sciences[IGIDS[, a constituent institute of Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth, Puducherry, established to attend to the dental needs of the inmates of all old age homes at Puducherry. With the support of the Rotary Club of Puducherry, Atrocity, the Department of Prosthodontics has been addressing the dental needs of individuals from such homes periodically.
On 30th July 2022, Dr. Manoharan P S, Head of Department, along with Dr. Adarsh Eshwar visited Pushpagandhi Home for the Aged, Korkadu Village, Nettupakkam Commune to assess the dental needs of the inmates. A total of 20 patients were evaluated and a follow-up camp was organized with the support of the Public Health Dentistry department, IGIDS. . AÂ team of doctors from the Department of Public Health Dentistry led by Dr. Senthil followed up on the basic treatment needs of the patients. The rehabilitative tertiary care will be carried out by the Department of Prosthodontics and Crown & Bridge.
On the 24th of September 2022, Dr. Manoharan P S, Head of Department, along with Dr. Agathian and Dr. Adarsh Eshwar visited Ayush Old Age home. A total of 30 patients [male and female] were evaluated and a follow-up treatment camp is planned department of Prosthodontics and Crown and Bridge, IGIDS on the 15th of October 2022.
The Department would continue its services to other Old Age Homes in a Phasic manner to provide complete oral care to the elderly.
