The Department of Periodontics, IGIDS conducted a screening camp for students of Rajiv Gandhi College of Engineering and Technology as a part of “Oral Hygiene Month Celebrations” on 24th August, 2017 between 9 am and 1 pm. The camp was conducted with the support of 4 Interns, 4 Post graduates and 6 Faculty members.
A total of 112 (103 students, 4 Professors, 5 non-teaching staff) were screened for oral and Periodontal health. Oral hygiene instructions and brushing technique were taught to the students. Pamphlets were distributed to the students and faculties which had the oral hygiene instructions.
After the screening program, a talk on Oral hygiene was given by Dr. Priyadharshini and Dr. Karthikeyan reinforcing the need for oral hygiene, different types of oral hygiene aids, link between Periodontitis and systemic health. The program was attended by the Principal and Vice Principal and Professors and students of Rajiv Gandhi college of Engineering and Technology.
Scaling will be made free of cost for the students and faculties who were screened and availed scaling services within a period of 3 months.
