The 17 th Foundation Day of Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth (SBV), Deemed to be University,accredited by NAAC with A++ Grade was celebrated on 4 th August 2024. The event was presided by Hon’ble Chancellor, Shri. M. K. Rajagopalan.
Prof. K.R. Sethuraman, Former Vice Chancellor, SBV was the Chief Guest of the programme. The programme began on a solemn note with SBV Anthem. Following this a cordial welcome was accorded by Prof. Ashok Kumar Das, Dean Academics, SBV. Light symbolizes glory, prosperity and positivity. The traditional lamp was lit in the presence of distinguished dignitaries who were joined by long serving faculty of constituent units of SBV.
A succinct of the overview of the Foundation day, its significance and the all-round progress made till date was presented by Prof. A.R. Srinivasan, Registrar. This was followed by a Kaleidoscope of the myriad facets of the services offered by the hospitals pertaining to healthcare and outreach services presented comprehensively by Prof. Nirmal Coumare V, Director of Health, Hospitals and Outreach Services, SBV. The piece de resistance of the history of SBV with profound and interesting anecdotes was provided by Ms. Asha K, General Manager (Admin.), SBV.
Prof. Seetesh Ghose invited Prof. K.R. Sethuraman to deliver the Foundation Day address. Prof. K.R. Sethuraman spoke eloquently on the importance of Staff performance in Institution building.
The address by the Hon’ble Chancellor enabled the audience in the jam-packed hall to sit glued to their seats. The noteworthy component of the Chancellor’s address revolved around the fact that SBV has made tremendous progress since its inception that owes it all to the dedication and commitment of the SBV family.
At the glittering ceremony Citations were bestowed on the Best performing departments. The Department of Community Medicine was adjudged the Best performing department from Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Research Institute. At Shri Sathya Sai Medical College and Research Institute, the department of Community Medicine was adjudged the Best performing Department.
Nostalgia invariably embraces events of significance that stays in our minds. This was revealed in the video presentation made.
Prof. Saravana Kumar R, Coordinator, Academics, IGIDS proposed the Vote of thanks. All the participants were provided High tea at the end of the programme.
Earlier on 3 rd August 2024 a quiz fest was organized by SBV Women’s Cell and the participants who answered grabbed interesting prizes.
