Student Clinician Orientation Program’16

Student Clinician Orientation Program was conducted in the second floor lecture hall, MGMCRI on 28th May 2016. This ceremony marked an annual tradition, representing the milestone in the lives of the third year students and marks the beginning of a new chapter in their lifelong journey of learning. The program commenced around 11:00 am with all third year students, CRRI and the faculties of Indira Gandhi Institute of Dental Sciences as audience. The SCOPE program was hosted by Ms. Infanta Preethi, CRRI, IGIDS and the welcome note was given by Ms. Preethi V, CRRI, IGIDS, symbolizing the conversion of the preclinical students into the members of the health profession. Recitation of the Hippocratic Oath by the third year under graduate students following Dr. E. Raj Kumar, Student Advisor, after which Badge ceremony was done by Prof. Carounanidy Usha, The Dean, vice principal and student advisor to the representatives and CRRI to the other third year students. A lecture on the topic “Ergonomics” was delivered by Dr. Senthil, HOD, Dept. of Public Health Dentistry followed by Dr. Saravanan, Senior Lecturer, Dept. of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery on the topic “Patient education”. The certificates of appreciation were given to the speakers by The Dean, Faculty of Dentistry, IGIDS and Dr. Saravana Kumar, Vice Principal, IGIDS. The Certificates were awarded to the winners of Quiz team, poster competition winner Dr. John Shibin, Essay competition winner Dr. Arvina for Yoga Fest 2016, Cricket team of IGIDS for achieving in the Coorg intercollegiate meet 2016 and Sangamam 2016 Javelin throw winner Mr. Sankaran, The program concluded by vote of thanks proposed by Dr. John Shibin, President, Student Council.
