World Prosthodontist day

World Prosthodontist day is celebrated all over the world to commemorate the contribution of the fraternity of Prosthodontics. Being a Prosthodontist, we replace missing teeth and bring back the missing self confidence in patients. We, the family of Indira Gandhi Institute of Dental Sciences, SBV, Pondy, proudly celebrated the world Prosthodontist day with faculties, post graduate and under graduate students. As a Prosthodontist its our duty to expose the public and provide knowledge regarding our profession from which they can be benefited. A series of events were conducted between 22/01/2023 – 22/02/23 in which 70 students participated and over 200 common people were benefited. The first event we conducted was a ‘Flash mob’ at providence mall, Puducherry, that created awareness to the public in a comprehensive manner. Following which several in house competition like ‘Badge designing’, ‘Fashion dentistry’, ‘Art from waste’ , ‘Face painting’, ‘Quiz’ and ‘Reels’ were conducted at the department of Prosthodontics. A ‘camp’ was organised at Ayush Senior Home , Puducherry and Denture Services were done as a part of “Project Pallandu“ an unique initiative to provide holistic care to selected Old Age Homes of Puducherry. A new event known as ‘Public puridhal’ was conducted in which the students went on the neighbourhood of Puducherry and interviewed the public and recorded their views on awareness on Prosthodontics. Finally a valedictory function was organized to appreciate the winners of the conducted competitions through Certificates, Gifts and Cash prizes. The Prosthodontist day celebrations were supported by Sona dental, DentArt dental lab and CS dental lab, Pondicherry.
