Profile SummaryDr.Aniruddh Yashwant.V completed his BDS from Government dental college (MGPGI),Puducherry and MDS from SRM Dental College,Ramapuram,Chennai.He was the gold medallist and batch topper in PG University exam (2015).He has won best paper presentation awards at Indian Orthodontic Society Convention 2013,2014.He has more than 20 publications in national and international journals.He was awarded the second prize for research category presentation in faculty podium presentation in SBV research week 2017.His areas of clinical and research interest include cephalometrics,mini implants,accelerated orthodontics,self ligating bracket system,cleft orthodontics. |
HOD,ProfessorDr Pavithranand AmmayappanBDS, MDS
Profile Summary
Dr Pavithranand is currently Professor and Head, Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics in Indira Gandhi Institute of Dental Sciences, Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth. He completed his BDS in 1998 and MDS in 2002 from Rajah Muthiah Dental College & Hospital, Annamalai University and was the topper of both courses and Gold Medalist during the period of his study. He received the prestigious FDSRCS from the Royal College of Surgeons, England in 2022. With over 22 years of clinical experience both in India and the UAE, he has over 14 years of teaching experience for both undergraduates and postgraduates. He has several publications to his credit including the prestigious American Journal of Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopaedics. He is part of the Doctoral Committee in BIHER and VMSDC and the Institutional Scientific Committee member in Government Dental College and Hospital, Cuddalore. Alongside his research and academic interests, he is also the Member Secretary of the Institutional Scientific & Educational Forum, Clinical Society Meeting and Secretary member of the Purchase Committee in IGIDS. He has been an active task force member of various accreditations such as NAAC and ISO. Apart from the above, he is the PG examiner of MGR University and RGUHS. He has also been a resource person for various workshops. His current area of interest includes 3D-printed custom appliances, Biomechanics and TADs for non-surgical management of skeletal dysplasias.

Profile Summary
Dr. Sithra completed her BDS from Mahatma Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Dental Sciences, Puducherry, in 2008. She completed her MDS in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics from Mahe Institute of Dental Sciences, Mahe, Puducherry, in 2021. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics from Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth, Puducherry. She has also received an Intramural Research grant from the University for a Research Project. She has completed her master class in clear aligner designing and manufacturing. She also attended workshops on TMJs in Orthodontics. She has been an active member of the Institutional Ethics Committee. She also organises student enrichment and outreach programs by conducting field visits and screening camps. Her current research interests are Management of Orthodontic relapse and Surgical Orthodontics. Alongside teaching, she possesses an interest in the research field involving Molecular Level Orthodontics and also enrolled in online learning platforms like Swayam Plus. |

Dr. Akash completed his BDS from Ragas Dental College, Chennai, in 2016 and his MDS from Indira Gandhi Institute of Dental Sciences, Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth, Puducherry in 2021. Dr. Archana completed her BDS from Karpaga Vinayaga Institute of Dental Sciences, Chengalpet, in 2016 and her MDS in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics from St.Joseph Institute of Dental Sciences, Eluru, Vijayawada, in 2020. Currently Dr. Archana is a Senior Lecturer in Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth, Puducherry.So far she has successfully treated orthodontic cases with various treatment approaches including functional, fixed functional & orthopeadic appliances, Tads, clear aligners and Beggs appliances. She has completed a masterclass in clear aligner designing and manufacturing and has been a part of aligner designers in a reputed forum. She holds publications in Scopus and Pubmed indexed journals. Her field of interest is clear aligners and functional jaw orthopaedics. Alongside teaching, she developed her interest in the research field involving 3D printing and AI technology in Orthodontics. She is an active learner being enrolled in online courses in renowned platforms such as Myobraces, NPTEL and Swayam Plus.
