All the faculty passed through the compulsory Faculty Development Program by the Medical Education Unit to deliver quality Teaching Learning and Evaluation principles in their Instruction. The Head along with other two faculties have successfully finished Post Graduate Diploma in Health Professions Education program conducted by the SBV AHEAD. Two faculties of the department are pursuing education. SCORE – Systematic Competency oriented Education for the interns is customized to develop the skills the interns are supposed to acquire in their course. It is developed by the Head as a part of a Ph.D. programme. Another faculty Dr. Shivasakthy has taken up a programme which is the brainchild of respected Vice-Chancellor Dr. KR Sethuraman – SNACS programme Students needing additional curricular support to help and scaffold the slow learners. The Head and the department faculty are a part of the most prestigious and fully functioning Dental Education Unit of the Institution. The faculty is actively involved in developing a training system and innovations in curriculum, teaching-learning methods, and evaluation. All examinations are post validated by department faculty to identify inherent errors or problems in the system.
