In Puducherry, There are dirt tracks and remote hamlets where medical help is a far cry for people in the Community. Without proper roads, there are no vehicles to reach the sick either.
Kasturba Gandhi Nursing College affiliated to Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth (SBV) – A Leading Health Sciences University in Puducherry has launched mobile health care services with the help of Two Wheelers.
In the Induction Programme of New Batch B.Sc(Nursing), P.B.B.Sc(Nursing) and M.Sc(Nursing) students on 25th September 2019 (Wednesday), Honorable Vice-Chancellor of Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth Prof.Subhash Chandra Parija started the first ride in the Two-wheeler. Further, Vice-Chancellor waved the flag and Inaugurated the Mobile Health Services in the Presence of Dr.Renuka K Principal, Kasturba Gandhi Nursing College and Prof. Ravishankar M, Dean, Mahatma Gandhi Medical College & Research Institute, Puducherry.
The CareGivers started the Health Services with the Patient Care Kit and visited Koravallimedu Village in Puducherry. The goal of this initiative is to reach the community people with two-wheelers where other vehicles cannot and to provide Preventive, Promotive, Curative and Rehabilitative care to the needy.
