OBJECTIVES

  • To conduct the activities on or off college premises by the students.
  • To encourage the students to organize and participate in programmes, supporting the students in learning activities and providing equal opportunities to all the students to participate in various activities through commemoration of vital events.
  • To create awareness of the prevalent problems among community people in preventive and promotive aspects of health, promotes directly and intensively involved in outreach projects.
  • To collaborate with government and private sectors, encouraging our students to participate in varied co-curricular activities, such as, quiz, debate, panel discussion.
  • To establish rapport with the people in the project area.
  • To identify needs, problems and resources of the community.
  • To plan programme and carry out the plans.
  • Relate his/her learning and experience towards finding solutions to the problems identified.
  • To record the progress periodically and effect changes as and when needed.
  • To prepare and maintain membership register for volunteers.

FUNCTIONS

  • Assign duties to the staff members as and when necessary for greater interest of the college and smooth functioning of the committee.
  • Keep the students physically active and get them out their desks to try out new things in practical way.
  • Celebration of vital days.
  • Providing opportunities for students to participate in various competitions.
  • Choose the activities which are based on student’s interest.
  • Empower all students to participate very successfully in various intra- and inter-college forum and at the inter university level as well as unravel the potentials of students to maximum.
  • Maintenance of record for all the activities.
  • Coordinate with different sectors to make the activities successful.
  • Review and approve objectives, competencies and content for new programmes.
  • Plan, organize and conduct various extension activities and programmes in the community.
  • Conducting various activities like awareness camps, rally on vital days, role play, puppet show and health talk among the general public.
  • School health programme – Screening and referral services.
  • Mass cooking demonstration in the community area.
  • Participating in intensified pulse polio immunization programme.
  • Mass drug administration for filariasis.
  • Mass source reduction programme to vector borne diseases.
  • Providing opportunities for students to participate in various medical camps and screening programmes.

STUDENT MEMBERS’ ROLE

  • Create and deliver co-curricular events, programs and activities that promote awareness and critical engagement with global issues.
  • Plan, implement and evaluate the activities.
  • Students are encouraged to join these societies and participate in the various activities so that they can build up their self-confidence, hone their skills and bring their talent to the forefront.
  • Students would be given a chance to think out of the box and get creative ideas of their own with the help of a guide/facilitator.
  • These activities are designed to meet the needs of the students and cover a broad/wide range of their abilities and talent.
  • These activities help in developing the grasping power of the students and provide an opportunity to the students to work in teams and thus develop team spirit in them.

  • To serve as a supporting channel to help the students to excel in their career in today’s revolutionary world, namely, focusing on in-depth assessment in each of the following co curricular areas.

MEETINGS

All meetings will be regularly scheduled, widely announced and open to all faculty and students. An executive session may be called by the Chair as required.

  • Academic calendar committee: once in every 6 months
  • Committee for Extension Activities: once in every 6 months
  • National Service Scheme Committee: once in every 6 months
  • RRC (Red Ribbon Club): once in every 6 months
