OBJECTIVES

1. To uphold the dignity of women at KGNC.
2. To facilitate a gender sensitive and congenial working environment, so that women, whether the female employee (contract, casual, temporary and permanent) or female student, are not subjected to gender-specific discrimination or sexual harassment.
3. To empower every female in our institute.
4. To make sure that all men and women workers are provided with equal facilities in terms of their overall welfare and safety at workplaces.
5. The cell proposes to conduct effective orientation and sensitization programmes for faculty, non-teaching staffs, and students.
6. Awareness through extra-curricular activities.
7. To arrange lectures of eminent personalities on women safety.

FUNCTIONS

1. To conduct an inquiry for the complaints against the individual.
2. To address the informal and formal complaints of any female employee or student as specified in the objectives of the cell.
3. To provide counseling and support services on our campus.
4. To promote awareness about self-protection against sexual harassment through educational initiatives.
5. To ensure that appropriate action is taken against the offender.
6. To ensure that victims and witnesses are not victimized or discriminated because of their complaint.
7. To take proactive measures towards sensitization of the gender issues, so that KGNC is an excellent workplace for all.

STUDENT MEMBERS ROLE

1. To join hands in promoting gender amity.
2. To participate in innovative programmes arranged by Women’s cell.
3. To create awareness among women on women safety.

RESOLUTION

1. To conduct a counseling session.
2. To organize a self-defense training program annually.
3. To utilize the service of the music therapy unit for stressed faculty and students.

FUTURE PLAN

1. To organize programmes to develop Defense Mechanism and Assertiveness among women in KGNC.
2. To motivate the women to conduct Research on Women’s Health.
