 
The MGMCRI Institute day is an occasion to remember the College’s past and celebrate its future. During its 15 years of existence, the college has contributed immensely to the region and its growth through its tertiary care super-specialty medical and dental hospitals, rural health centers and telemedicine based outreach programs in addition to proving quality medical education. This year it was celebrated on 15th July 2015.
Prof. M. Ravishankar, Dean, read out the Annual report for the year 2015 -16,chronicling the achievements of the college in various aspects like Curriculum, student and faculty achievements, research activities and hospital services. He further added that MGMCRI is introducing the new ‘STEPS’ Curriculum for First MBBS and Competency Based Residency Program for postgraduates from this academic year.
He also informed that the Institution has been accredited with NAAC ‘A’ Grade in the recent inspection and ranked No. 93 in NIRF rating.
Prof. N. ANANTHAKRISHNAN, Dean (Research and Allied Health Sciences felicitated the gathering.
Prof. George Chandy, distributed the academic achievement and congratulated the students and parents. He addressed the students regarding;
- The realities of healthcare expenditure and the burden of health care cost to the poor in our country.
- The need to be both cost effective and quality oriented in our patient care activities.
- The responsibilities and mission of the young graduates to bridge the gap between the affordability and quality in health care sector.
Prof. Partha Nandi, Vice Principal (Students) welcomed the gathering. Prof. Mahalakshmi V. N.., Vice Principal (Curriculum) introduced the Chief Guest and announced the awardees. 289 awards were distributed to 152 awardees.
Prof. Nirmal Coumare V., Medical Superintendent proposed the vote of thanks. Mrs. Asha Suresh Babu, General Manager (Administration) was the Chief Co-coordinator and the Office of the Dean organized the event.
