The Department of Nursing has grown by leaps and bounds past 2 decades and has set a model of excellence in the state. At MGMCRI, we rely heavily on our nurses in the pursuit of our mission of ‘Embracing lives’ and have been making significant investments to empower our nurses. These initiatives have received validation and recognition in the form of NABH Nursing Excellence Certifications. MGMCRI has received the coveted NABH Nursing Excellence Certifications in the Puducherry union territory on 6th April 2021 which speaks about the high standard and quality of nursing care in addition to exploring new possibilities to keep pace with changing trends in health care. The visibility of MGMCRI hospital is enhanced by the Nursing Excellence certificate conferred it by NABH and our hospital is 1st hospital in this region to receive this certification.
The certification was released in the valediction program for nurses on 30/07/2021 by our Honourable Vice-Chancellor Prof. Subhash Chandra Parija.  Prof. Nirmal Coumare V, Medical Superintendent; Dr. Swati Jayant Pawar, Deputy Medical Superintendent; Mrs. Asha Suresh Babu, General Manager – Admin; Prof. Kripa Angeline A, Nursing superintendent; Dr. Renuka K, Principal, KGNC and Mr. Kingsle Kishore Coumar, NABH Nursing excellence coordinator were present during this prideful moment.
Nursing Excellence standards help in regulating, guiding, and promoting professional nursing practice. They serve as guidelines to nursing administrators and supervisors for supporting and facilitating safe, competent, and ethical nursing practices within healthcare organizations.
