Faculty development Programme- All about MCQs, Item analysis and question banking was held as a webinar via Google meet on June 3rd,5th and 10th between 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm. Nearly 126 SBV faculties from various disciplines (Medical, Dental, Nursing and Allied Health Sciences)registered for this FDP. The three day program was conducted by the department of Pathology, MGMCRI in collaboration with Centre for Health Professions Education(CHPE) and coordinated by Dr. Venkat Raghavan A.T.M, Assistant Professor and Dr. Bhavani K, Professor, Department of Pathology, MGMCRI. The first day session began with talk on Best practice guidelines for framing MCQs, followed by a task to frame a simple MCQ by the participants with an interactive session with the speaker, Dr.Nachiket, Professor, Department of Anatomy, St.Johns Medical College, Bangalore. Dr.Nachiket, then threw light on MCQs with high order thinking skills. At the end of the first day session, the participants were given the home assignment of framing a MCQ with higher order skills. The second day was an interesting session. Dr.S.Sowmya, Professor and Head, Department of Pathology, MGMCRI spoke about the role of multimedia and software applications in MCQS, followed by Dr.JaganMohan R, Head, Medical Informatics, SBV, who demonstrated various interesting softwares for framing MCQs. The last day began with interaction of higher order MCQ by Dr.Nachiket, followed by his talk on Item analysis, Question Banking and Blue printing. As a whole, the three day session was really enlightening for all the medical and paramedical teaching faculties. Participants took pleasure in active interaction with the speakers and the programme was a grand success. The department of CHPE and Information technology (IT) extended their full support and cooperation. Feedback forms were generated for everyday session, and feedback was obtained from the participants through Google forms. Assignments were collected from the participants via mail.
