Mahatma Gandhi Medical College & Research Institute, a constituent college of Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth, Deemed to be University, Pondicherry in association with Rotary Club of Pondicherry Central organized a Grand Multi-Specialty & Life Style Diseases Screening Medical Camp on 13th April 2019 between 6.00 pm and 8.30 pm at Gandhi Thidal, Pondicherry.
The mega camp was inaugurated by Mr. T. Arun, I.A.S, District Collector & Special Secretary (Revenue), Government of Puducherry. Prof. Subhash Chandra Parija, Vice-Chancellor of Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth was the guest of honor. Prof. M. Ravishankar, Dean, Mahatma Gandhi Medical College & Research Institute presided over the event.
A specialist from the departments of Medicine, Surgery, Orthopaedics, Pediatrics, Dermatology, Dentistry, Music Therapy, and Yoga Therapy screened around 500 public who had visited the camp. Nearly 200 investigations were carried out and the results were given. A special counseling session was organized for needy persons.
The camp was organized in commemoration of World Health Day by the Student Council 2018-19 of Mahatma Gandhi Medical College & Research Institute in order to create awareness about Health and was a curtain-raiser for SPECTRA, the 4th Inter-medical college Cultural and Sports Fest being organized at SBV between April 23 and 27th of 2019.
The Vice-Principal of MGMCRI, Dr. Partha Nandi, Deputy Medical Superintendent of MGMCRI, Dr. SwathiPawar, Dr. Kannan, of MGMCRI including the team of Specialists, members of the Student Council, MGMCRI, RTN Dr. Sreenivasan, IMA President, RTN Mr. Saravanan, President of Rotary Club of Pondicherry Central and RTN Mr. Muthukumar, Secretary, Rotary Club of Pondicherry Central and other participated in the mega event.
