The Workshop was conducted by the Department of Pharmacology on 17th & 18th October 2024.Day-1 Scientific Sessions on 17th October 2024, started with Registrations by 8.30 AM. Around 47 delegates from various institutions and disciplines all over India registered for the Workshop both online and offline and attended the workshop. The Inauguration Ceremony was commenced at 9.00 AM by Dr. Manimekalai. K, Dr. Padmavathi S, Dr. Kavimani S, Dr. Nishanthi A, by lighting kuthuvilakku and SBV anthem. The Organizing chairperson, Dr. Manimekalai K. delivered the welcome address followed by felicitation. The inauguration was followed by a presentation by Dr. Vanitha Samuel, who gave
introduction about “Basics in Animal Research”. Followed by Dr. Uma Narayanamurthy, gave talk on “How do I fill form B & form D?” High Tea break was given. After a tea break, Dr. Kavimani S, gave a lecture on “Basics of Extraction techniques” in interest sir also extended his talk on Zebra fish. Followed by Dr. Akila S, gave talk on “Statistics in animal research. Lunch Break given, following lunch break sessions started by Dr. Raveendran R, on the topic “ Funding in animal research” The next session was by Dr. Nishanthi A on the topic “ ARRIVE guidelines and advances in animal research” and finally felicitated all the speakers, valedictory to all offline participants with certificates, Finally Vote of Thanks
given by Dr. Devikala, Assistant Professor and Organizing Secretary of the HOLA 3.0 Workshop, MGMCRI, ended the sessions with National Anthem followed by High tea. Day – 2 sessions (Hands-on training) started on 18th October 2024, Registration started at 9:00 AM, Hands-on training session in animal handling and demonstration of Screening methods. There were totally 5 stations kept for Hands-on and the participants were divided into 5 groups with 5 to 7 members in each. E-poster competition for the various institution students conducted through Zoom link on 18th October 2024 by internal Judge Dr. Padmavathi S, Professor, Pharmacology dept., MGMCRI and External Judge
Dr. Jeneth Berlin Raj. T, Professor and HOD of Physiology, Arunai Medical College & Hospital, Tiruvannamalai. The program was concluded with distribution of feedback, certificates and post-test forms with tea for the participants.
