The Department of Pathology, MGMCRI, conducted an online webinar on “A Patient Journey Towards Podiatry & The Role Of Tele Podiatry”by Dr. Sanjay Sharma on 04-08-2020 via zoom.Nearly 83 participants in and outside SBV took part in this session.Dr.Sanjay Sharma,Consultant Podiatric Surgeon,Foot Secure,Bangalore, highlighted the role of a podiatric surgeon in foot wound care.He threw light on various effective strategies in the management of foot wounds,especially the diabetic foot.He also enlightened the role of Teleemedicine and Telepodiatry in the current medical practice.He spoke about the novel measures adopted in Telepodiatry such as mobile apps in assessing the wound management,which seemed to be really useful especially during this
pandemic times.At the end of the session,Medical practiotioners from various specialities interacted with the speaker and clarified their queries on wound management.As a whole, the webinar was interesting and interactive in understanding the new realm of podiatry.
