 The year 2017 began with Pongal celebrations, the Tamil harvest festival on the 13th of January. Mahatma Gandhi Medical College in collaboration with Kasturba Gandhi Nursing College organised the auspicious ceremony. The Dean, Faculty of Medicine Dr. M Ravi Shankar, Dean of Research and Allied Health Sciences N Anantha Krishnan, HODs and faculty from MGMCRI and KGNC graced the occasion. Dr. Sobana Jaiganesh performed the puja and spoke about the significance of the festival. This was followed by songs and speeches by the students and ended with distribution of pongal.
