 The Revised Basic Course Workshop in Medical Education Technology for teaching faculty of MGMCRI by the NMC was organized and conducted by the Medical Education Unit of MGMCRI from 23.11.2022 to 25.11.2022, under the NMC observer, Dr. Mahalakshmy.T, Additional Professor, Department of Preventive & Social Medicine from the regional center JIPMER.
Thirty faculties had undergone training in this program, from pre-clinical, para-clinical and phase I and II of clinical departments. Sessions were conducted from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm on all three days.
The inauguration program started with the welcome address by Dr. S. Sowmya, MEU Coordinator, MGMCRI, an overview of the workshop by Dr. Seetesh Ghose, Dean, MGMCRI and guidelines of the workshop by Dr. Mahalakshmy.T, NMC Observer.
There were multiple group activities on all the three days with the participants being divided into six groups and engaged in active discussions. The hands-on training started with forming objectives, lesson plans, and T-L methods and concluded with an assessment of a given competency, for each group. It was developed in a stepwise pattern with improvisation based on comments from peer groups and facilitators. Pretest, posttest and retro-pre-analysis were done to assess the effectiveness of the program. All the MEU members actively took part as resource persons.
Certificates were awarded to the participants and resource persons by the NMC observer in the concluding session.
