“FORTY-THREE YEARS OF MY PEREGRINATIONS IN MEDICAL RESEARCH”
The Scientific and Academic Forum of Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Research Institute, a constituent college of Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth, deemed to be University organized the Smt. Rukmani Ammal Annual Internal Oration on 15th April 2019. The oration was delivered by Dr. C. Adithan, Dean Research – SBV, on the topic “Forty-three years of my peregrinations in medical research”.Dr. Adithan C through this oration shared his life experience in the area of medical research. To his credit, he has the pride of establishing a State of Art Pharmacokinetic Laboratory in JIPMER and “First Pharmacogenomic Lab” in a Medical College in India. He has started two new courses, a notable one is PG Diploma in Pharmacogenomics & Personalized Medicine at SBV. He also introduced the First Electronic Discussion Forum of Indian Pharmacologists entitled as INDPHARM. He served as the editor as well as reviewer of various reputed medical journals. He has received a huge amount of nearly Rs. 5croresas research grant from varying government funding agencies. This is a proof for his interest in the area of medical research.
Prof Subhash Chandra Parija, Vice-Chancellor of SBV, DrTarun Kumar Dutta, President of SAF, Dr. M Ravishankar Dean, MGMCRI were present. The programme was largely attended by students and faculty of Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth.
