SPECTRA 2022

Spectra 2022, a mega annual inter-college regional level Sports & cultural fest was conducted after a break of 2 years for 4 days from 5th to 8th Oct 2022. We had our inauguration ceremony on the 5th of October, 2022 which was presided over by our honourable Vice Chancellor Prof. Subhash Chandra Parija, Prof. A R Srinivasan Registrar SBV, Prof. M Ravishankar, Director of C dreams, SBV. Dean MGMCRI Dr Seetesh Ghose, General Manager Admin Mrs Asha Suresh Babu, Director of student and alumni affairs, SBV & HOD of the department of ENT, Dr Karthikeyan, Prof. Ganesh Babu VP curriculum, Dr Padmavathi S., VP student affairs, Senior personal manager were also present during the event. Student Council President Ms T F Dipna Prabhu delivered the welcome address. Vice-chancellor then declared the commencement of spectra 2022. The event was symbolically declared open by the releasing of the doves and releasing of lanterns.

LITERARY & DEBATE: The literary and debate club conducted events as a part of our inter-college cultural event Spectra from 5th October to 8th October. This year we introduced new events like lawyers up, shark tank, spin a yarn, spot poetry, and movie reviews. The L and D events came to an end on 7th October with our final event being Pictionary. The event took place very smoothly and this wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our management, Dean Professor Seetesh Ghose, Vice principal student affairs Professor Padmavathi Shanumuganathan, Vice principal curriculum Professor Ganesh Babu, L and D coordinator A N Uma, Cultural faculty coordinator Dr Kannan, Deputy medical superintendent, Dr Swati and all the faculty members.

FINE ARTS: The fine arts club conducted events as a part of our inter-college cultural event spectra from the 5th to the 8th of October. We conducted 6 events over the week. This year we introduced new events like collage and glass painting. The events were held from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm on the first day and till 4:00 pm on other days. The event took place very smoothly and this wouldn’t have been possible without the support of Fine arts faculty coordinator Dr Prabavathy G., and Dr Valentina.

SPORTS: The sports events in spectra were conducted by the sports secretaries along with the guidance of physical trainer Mr Saravanan. It was conducted from the 5th to the 8th of October. The sports activities conducted were football, cricket, tennis (men& women), basketball (men and women), volleyball (men & women), futsal, table tennis, and super six cricket (men& women). Around 25 colleges participated. The events were overviewed by the HOD of the department of ENT, Dr Karthikeyan. The overall winners of the sports events were MGMCRI.

CULTURAL: The Cultural Committee conducted events as a part of our inter-college event Spectra from the 5th to the 8th of October. We are very proud to say that we conducted 11 events. We conducted Solo singing. Solo instrumental, Duet singing. Solo dance classical, Solo dance non-classical. Adaptunes in Lecture hall 4 on October 5th between 10.30 AM to 7.30 PM. Adzap and Variety show at Lecture hall 4 between 11 AM to 12.30 Battle of Bands at the Main stage in Ground on October 6th by 9.30 PM. On the same day, our college band The Soda Company did a host performance; Duet dance and Group dance on the Main stage on October 7th at 9.30 PM. We also had Proshows on October 6th and 7th between 7 PM to 9 PM. On October 6th it was by the Non-violinist project ft. Mr Sathyaprakash and on October 7th it was by Ms Andrea Jeremiah and the band. On 8th October, the final day of the event, our college did a host performance in a fashion show and the event came to an end. MGMCRI got the overall cup in Cultural. The event took place very smoothly and this wouldn’t have been possible without the support of Cultural faculty coordinators Dr Kannan and Dr Uma Narayanamurthy.

VALIDECTORY:

On the 8th of October, our cultural fest Spectra 2022 came to an end. Our valedictory ceremony was graced by the esteemed Director of Student and Alumni affairs SBV and our eminent HOD of the department of ENT, Dr Karthikeyan, Deputy Medical Superintendent Dr Swati Jayant Pawar, Senior personal manager Mr.Balamukundan, and Dr R. Kannan. The dignitaries then distributed the prizes for the various events conducted during the fest. The joint secretary of the Student Council Mr. Sabarish G delivered the vote of thanks for the event.
