Talentia is an intra-collegiate cultural and sports festival organised for the students of MGMCRI. This year it happened for a period of seventeen days from 20th February to 7th March 2020 which was organised by the students of the batch of 2016 – ‘GENEZENZ’. It was a great platform given to the undergraduate and the postgraduate students of our college representing six houses namely red, brown, yellow, purple, blue and green to showcase their talents in various spheres like L&D, fine arts, sports and cultural.
L&D EVENTS
Wehad a plethora of events of different variety and skill sets for Talentia 2020 which took place over a hectic fun packed week from 20/02/20 to 24/02/20. L & D comprised of 12 events, including Writing Events – Creative writing, flash fiction and Haiku, Individual events – Poetry Slam, Block and tackle, Shipwreck & Just a Minute, Team Events – Debate & Dumb charades
FINEARTS
Fine arts events were conducted from 20th to 24th of February. The events includes Sketching, Ditto, T-shirt painting, Wealth out of waste, Makeup & hairstyling and Mehandi.
CULTURAL EVENTS
Cultural events were organised for 7 days from 29/2/20 to 7/3/20. The Honourable Vice chancellor of SBV Prof.Subash Chandra Parija inaugurated the cultural events. The events were  solo singing , duet singing and instrumentals, solo dance,duet dance and adaptunes, ADZAP and variety show, and the main stage events – duet dance, group dance &ramp walk.
On the last day,we had a special performance by the differently abled children from OASIS TRUST from Cuddalore which added more meaning to the event.
SPORTS EVENTS
Intra college sports fest – Talentia 2020 was organised from 20th February to 5th March 2020.Sports events such as Cricket, Volleyball, Basketball, Throw ball, Tennis, Super six, Futsal and the athletic events were conducted in our college ground. We also had the indoor games like Carrom, Chess and Table tennis. Badminton was conducted in Guruvalaya sports coaching centre, Puducherry.
We had a panel of external and internal judges for all the events who enthusiastically took part and added colour to the events. They enjoyed a lot and felt nostalgic attending the events and we thank them for honouring us by their presence and spending time with us from their busy schedules.
This colourful string of events ended with the Valedictory Function where the best talents were appreciated and honoured by medals and prizes. The prizes were distributed by Prof. M Ravishankar, Dean, MGMCRI. The overall winner trophy for cultural events was won by the Brown house. Mr.Talentia & Miss.Talentia was won by Mr.Rithwik and Miss. Shruthi Kannan respectively. The overall trophy for sports was won by Green house & Individual championship trophy for athletics was won by Mr.Rithwik (Batch of 2019) in boys category, Ms.Subhiksha (Batch of 2017) in girls category. The overall championship of Talentia 2020 was won by the Brown house. There was a great response in the participation from students and the overall event was a grand success.
