Webinar on “Implications of Covid19 in transfusion medicine” was held on 16th july 2020 from 10.30am to 12.30pm via zoom. Faculties and students from various institutions have registered for the event. This webinar was conducted by Department of Pathology, MGMCRI, SBV, Puducherry and co-ordinated by Dr Dharmisthra N Kapadiya and Dr D Venkatesh, Assistant Professor, Department of Pathology, MGMCRI, Puducherry. The first talk was delivered by Dr E Sabaripriya, Assistant Professor, Blood Bank, MGMCRI, Puducherry on “Implications of Covid19 in blood bank services”. She spoke about the challenges faced by transfusion medicine department during the Covid19 pandemic and suggested practical solutions to overcome these issues. The second talk was delivered by Dr Abhishek B, Associate professor, JIPMER, Puducherry on “ Plasma therapy in Covid19”. He talked about the current scenario of plasma therapy, indications and effectiveness of the same. Participants took pleasure in active interaction with the speakers and the programme was a grand success. Feedback forms were generated and feedback was obtained from the participants through Google forms.
