The world Health day was commemorated by Shri Sathya Sai College of Nursing on 7.04.2021 on the theme “Building a Fairer, Healthier world” at 9.30am to 11.00am under the guidance of Principal Dr.Helen Shaji and coordinated by AL Mahalakshmi, Vice Principal and Dr.T.Sujatha, Professor. The main aim was to create awareness among students about health and well being and to ensure that everyone, everywhere realizes the right to good health.
The program started with the prayer song, followed by welcome address was delivered by Dr.T.Sujatha, World health day special address was delivered by Dr.Helen Shaji, Principal, SSSCON, highlighted the need of celebrating world health day and emphasized that the theme 2021 is the need of the hour to create awareness about the importance of health , when the world is facing second wave of Covid-19 and the measures to be taken to deal with the problems at hand. Mr.Snowden, Assistant Professor has explained the theme of this year “Building a fairer, Healthier world” through Power point presentation . He stressed the origin of WHO and the importance of the theme especially in today’s pandemic era.
E-Poster and Slogan competitions were conducted for the Students based on the world health day theme. Students participated enthusiastically and presented their views in a neat and creative way. Students were evaluated and prizes will be distributed. The programme ended with the vote of thanks by Mr.S.Dinesh, Nursing Tutor.
