The World Tuberculosis Day was organized by Shri Sathya Sai College of Nursing in Rural Health training centre at Sembakkam on 26.03.2021 on the theme “Clock is Ticking” at 11.00am under the guidance of Principal Dr.Helen Shaji. The main aim was to create awareness among people about the control and preventable nature of tuberculosis to end TB from our community..
The Tuberculosis awareness programme started with a welcome address. Dr.Ilavarasi, Medical officer, RHTC delivered a health talk on prevention and management of tuberculosis. The second year B.sc Nursing students of Shri Sathya Sai College of Nursing depicted a Skit to create awareness on control and prevention of Tuberculosis. They explained about the causes, signs and symptoms, lab investigations and dealt in detail about the DOTS and control and prevention of tuberculosis. About 21 participants (General population) attended the program. Participants doubts were clarified . The participants feedback obtained that the programme was very useful.
