Evidence-Based Education and Clinical Practice

The Medical Education Unit of Shri Sathya Sai Medical College and Research Institute organized this Medical Council of India (MCI) sponsored a hands-on workshop on Evidence-based Education and Clinical Practice on 19th July 2019 as part of the International Health Research Convention-2019. The keynote address on “ Rationale for the Competency-based Medical education” during the workshop was delivered by Dr. Krishna Seshadri who is one of the core members involved in the design of the new MCI Undergraduate curriculum. A total of 54 delegates and five resource faculty participated in this one day workshop. The workshop was awarded two credit hours by Tamilnadu Medical council and 5 credit points by Sri Balaji Vidhyapeeth. The delegated who attended the workshop consisted of medical educationalists, faculty, clinicians, consultants and postgraduates of various medical specialties. The rest of the sessions targeted on training the delegates in the practice of Evidence-Based Medicine. The Medical education team lead by Dr. P F Kotur, Deam SSSMCRI conducted this hands-on training session on how to practice evidence-based medicine. The workshop also had a demonstration of data literature search by Dr. Glad Mohesh.
