The event was inaugurated by our inspiring Vice Chancellor of Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth Prof KR Sethuraman in presence of Registrar SBV Prof VR Srinivasan and Dean SSSMC&RI Prof J Mohanasundaram. The importance of “Salutogenesis”, a conscious focus on ‘sources of health’ was highlighted by our respected Vice Chancellor in his lead talk where he stressed the role of Yoga in promoting health and wellness.
The CYTER team consisting of Prof Madanmohan, Dr Ananda Balayogi Bhavanani, Dr Meena Ramanathan and Sri Dhanushapnadeesh gave invited talks and lecture demonstrations on Yoga, Physiological aspects of Yoga and Therapeutic Potential of Yoga.
Faculty and students of SSSMC&RI attended the sessions and participated with enthusiasm in the interactive demonstration of various Yoga techniques.
It is noteworthy that Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth is a pioneer in the introduction of Yoga for all students of its affiliated medical, dental and nursing colleges through the SBV AIM HIGH initiative.
