Intellectual property rights are the rights given to persons over the creations of their minds. They usually give the creator an exclusive right over the use of his/her creation for a certain period of time. Intellectual Property Rights Sensitization Program was Conducted on 3.03.2023 by MIPTECH, SBV University for PG, UG & faculty of SSSMCRI & SSSCON in MEU Hall to sensitize on intellectual property rights (IPR) and motivate the faculty to take measures for protecting their ideas and strategies. Inauguration was started at 9.30am in hybrid mode (Online and Offline mode). The program started with a welcome address by Dr.Helen Shaji, Principal of SSSCON. Dr. Udit.B.Das, Dean SSSMCRI has updated on IPR status in SSSMCRI . Followed by that, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Dr.Subash Chandra Parija has addressed this Program online. An Overview of Workshop activities was given by our Registrar, Prof. A.R.Srinivasan and Vice President, Research Innovation and Development, Dr.S.R.Rao has elaborated on “How to Kick Start Innovation” . Then the Vote of thanks was delivered by Dr.T.Sujatha, Professor, SSSCON and the inauguration ended with National Anthem.
Then the first Scientific session was elaborated by Dr. M. Senthil, member secretary, MIPTECH, SBV on “Road Map to Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and Patentable Subject Matter & Benefits of filing” (Offline mode). The Second session was addressed by Dr.Glad Mohesh, Associate Professor, Dept of Physiology on “Copyrightable Subject Matter and Benefits of filing” (offline mode). In the afternoon, there was an interactive Q and A Session. Sensitization was done on filling the copyright and patent proposal. Method of searching of copyrights patents filed in databases was elaborated. The Event was encouraging and useful for the participants interested in Intellectual Property Right. The event had 25 registered participants.
Feedback was obtained and the event ended by 3.30.
