International Nurse Day 2023 was commemorated on 11.05.2023 at the Lecture Hall, 4 th Floor, of Shri Sathya Sai Medical College And Research Institute Hospital. The program began at 11:00 am with the invocation of the SBV Anthem. The Master Of Ceremonies was Dr.Golda Sahaya Rani., Professor & HOD Dept of Medical Surgical, Shri Sathya Sai College Of Nursing. Prof.A.L.Mahalakshmi., Vice Principal, SSSCON delivered the welcome address, and the guest were honored with the sweet bouquet. Prof.Dr.Helen Shaji J.C., Principal of Shri Sathya Sai College of Nursing unfolded the theme of this year’s International Nurses Day which is “Our Nurses, Our Future”. Prof. Sukumaran Annamalai, Dean, Shri Sathya Sai Medical College And Research Institute delivered the keynote address. Dr. Gokul D.Y., Medical Superintendent Incharge and Mrs. Emerald Rajakumari, Nursing Superintendent of Shri Sathya Sai Medical College And Research Institute Hospital, felicitated the gathering. Followed by this, Nursing Awards 2023 and prizes were given for the poster competition for Nurses Day which was held in the morning. The Best Nurse Award 2023 (SSSMCRI) was given to Staff Nurse Ms. Salipriya C. and the Best Nurse Supervisor Award 2023 (SSSMCRI) was given to Nursing Supervisor Ms. Sangeetha B. After this, the certificates and prices were given to the winners of the Poster Competition. The first price was given to Ms. Sangeeta B., Nursing Supervisor, the second price was given Ms. Kavitha S., Staff Nurse and the third price was given to Ms. Usha S., Nursing Supervisor. After the price distribution, there was a dance performance by Staff Nurses Ms.Jyothika, and Ms.Shalini, followed by this there was a short film presentation by the Nursing Students. Mr.Snowden, Associate Professor, Shri Sathya Sai College Of Nursing, delivered the vote of thanks and the program ended at 12:30 with a National Anthem. A total of 165 participants attended the event. After this there was a Special Tree Planting Event for International Nurses Day 2023, three Pongame oiltrees (Pongamia Pinnata) were planted behind the Central Library. The nurses had a wonderful time celebrating International Nurse Day 2023
