Shri Sathya Sai College of Nursing (SSSCON), under Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth (SBV), celebrated International Nurses Day 2025 on May 8, 2025. The event was held in collaboration with the Nursing Service Department of Shri Sathya Sai Medical College and Research Institute (SSSMCRI).
The theme for this year was “Our Nurses, Our Future. Caring for Nurses Strengthens Economies.” The program commenced at 10:30 AM with an invocation and the SBV anthem, followed by a warm welcome from Dr. Sujatha T, Professor at SSSCON. The traditional lamp was lit to signify enlightenment and hope.
Dr. Prema Sekar, Principal of SSSCON, elaborated on the theme, highlighting the critical role of nurses in global health and economic systems. Prof. Nihar Ranjan Biswas, Vice Chancellor of SSSMCRI, delivered the presidential address, emphasizing nurse empowerment. Felicitations were given by Prof. Joydeb Roy Chowdhary and Dr. Gokul D, acknowledging the vital contributions of the nursing fraternity.
Awards and prizes were distributed to recognize excellence among students and professionals. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Mrs. Emerald Rajakumari, Nursing Superintendent, and the National Anthem at 12:30 PM.. The event ended with a high tea, fostering interaction among participants.
The celebration was a tribute to nurses’ dedication and a call for greater investment in their well-being and development.
