ISCM STUDENT ENRICHMENT PROGRAM

The School of Music Therapy, ISCM, organized a two-day Sound Healing and Nada Yoga session as part of student enrichment program (SEP) on 26th and 27th March 2025, facilitated by international Visiting faculty, Yogacharini Dr. Sangeeta Laura Biagi, Italy. The session provided an immersive experience in the therapeutic applications of sound and breath awareness in healing. Participants, including therapists, educators, and healthcare professionals, explored the impact of vibrational therapy on well-being and stress management. The first day introduced the basics of sound healing, highlighting its influence on mental and emotional well-being through practical demonstrations using instruments at the “Swasthya Guha”, enabled deep listening and breath synchronization. A group sound creation exercise fostered harmony and interconnectedness. The second day focused on the practical applications of sound healing in stress reduction, conducted as a hands-on workshop at the Rural Health
Training Centre (RHTC). Healthcare professionals, including doctors,nurses, and technicians who engaged in guided meditation and relaxation exercises. Techniques such as expressive sound therapy, pranayama, and movement-based relaxation were demonstrated to manage stress and restore balance. The session concluded with insights from Dr. Meena Ramanathan, Vice Principal, School of Yoga Therapy, ISCM, SBV, on ongoing research initiatives on sound healing for the senior population. This event successfully integrated practical learning with therapeutic applications, making it a valuable experience for all participants.
