The events to commemorate the Matribasha Diwas and Swach Bharat were celebrated on 27th February at First floor lecture hall in the college campus at SSSMCRI. The events started at 2 pm and extended well up to 4 pm, with a hall packed enthusiastic students and faculty members. The events started with an invocation song in Sanskrit by Dr. Karthika Jayakumar Prof & HOD, Microbiology. It was followed by a presidential address by the Dean. Dr. J. Mohana Sundaram. The oath for Swach Bharath was taken by the gathering with true spirits. A talk in English about Linguistic Diversity in India was delivered by Sreenidhi – I year Student. A Song in Tamil on the topic “Bharathiyin Kanavu” was sung by G.Haripriya – II yr Student. A talk in Sanskrit titled “Maathru Devo Bhava” was delivered by Preethi – I yr Student.
A talk in Tamil on the title, “Tamizhan Enru Sollada, Thalai Nimirndhu Nillada” was delivered by Aswini – II yr Student. A Dance on the title, “Thamizh Pasanga” was performed by Santosh & Team – I yr Students. A talk in Malayalam, titled “Swagatham” was delivered by Sahal Nagash – I yr Student. A Malayalam song was sung by Aaradhana Bhaskar – II yr Student on the title of “Kizhakkupookum”.
A talk on the title of “Tamizhum Ariviyalum” was delivered by Dr.Semmal, Professor of Physiology; it was followed by the inauguration of the “Tamizh Mandram”. Another dance on the title of “Innum Enna Thozhaa” was sung by Chella Karthick – II yr Student.
An Instrumental music celebration by Joshua – I yr Student was performed on the title of “When Words Fail Music Speaks”, a talk titled as Telugu Ludikaram was delivered by Kalakota Pranavi – I yr Student, followed by a Telugu song by Vasudevayani.
